Runway to Realway: Brights

I love a good sale as much as the next lingerie diva, but one of the things I really enjoy doing here with Stockings Addict is connecting runway looks to lingerie. After all, it's a lot easier to change your stockings than to change your entire wardrobe.

I did little of this last year with an article on Tartan, but I want to take it to the next level this year by examining several Spring/Summer fashion trends. For the first article in the series, let's take a look at brights.

As you can see, color is a big deal for this season. However, I get a bit gun shy at the idea of dressing head to toe in dazzling, look-at-me shades. Wearing brights on my legs, though, lets me indulge in this trend without feeling awkward.

ASOS.com is selling hold ups in several spring color combinations. You can choose from blue/pink, red/yellow, and purple/yellow. Plus, at only £3.50-4.00 a pop, you don't have to feel guilty about throwing these away once you're done.

Stockingirl also carries hosiery in a variety of styles (RHT, fully fashioned, hold up) and a plethora of colors. I just purchased a light pink, baby blue, and soft lilac trio from them and I'm in love with all three.

If tights are more your style, both MyTights and StockingsHQ sell sheer, colored Jonathan Aston tights in every shade imaginable...and then some! They're also very reasonable--only£3-4.

Finally, I want to recommend I site I haven't tried yet, but have seen positive reviews of in several fashion magazines (including Lucky magazine). If there ever was a hub on the web for lovers of brightly colored tights, I believe We Love Colors is it. They not only sell tights, but also leggings, fishnets, and knee highs in over 45 colors. If any of my readers do give them a try, I'd love to hear about your experience.

As you can see, there are lots of option for keeping your wardrobe up to date, and none of them have to break the bank. Keep checking back for the next Runway to Realway installment!

I love the two colored hold ups. And for 2 pounds? Unbelievable.

I've been thinking about getting some pink Aston tights too...now might be the time.

Pink Nylon,

Glad you like them. I've not seen those two color holdups anywhere else.

Hilton,

Thanks for reading!
