Photo Friday: Hot Couture

I'm no fashionista, but my heart is all aflutter over the Christian Dior Haute Couture Winter 2009/2010 collection. Translated from the French, Haute Couture literally means "high sewing," and I don't believe I've ever seen such exquisite sewing as what Mr. John Galliano walked down the runway this week.

The revival to a classic, vintage silhouette is all the more appropriate because the original Christian Dior is most famous for the "New Look" he created post World War II, which, after the deprivation of the war, celebrated a return to voluminous skirts and lush underpinnings.

But enough of my prattle. You want to see the photos!

I would especially recommend picking up some items from last seasons Kiss Me Deadly collection as once they're sold out, they're gone for good. I own the Sirena bra set and the Vargas girdle dress (albeit in different colorways), and they are both among the top five pieces in my personal collection. The Playful Promises Silk Corsage bra set and the Lulu & Lush satin hot pants are great buys as well.

Vintage Vanity Fair

I've got a few posts lined up for this weekend that I am super-excited about. However, as I'm just getting off of work and really should get to bed, let's start with the easiest one first. ;-)

I don't have to remind you that I love vintage lingerie. I especially love vintage Vanity Fair lingerie. And, more than anything else, I am obsessed with vintage leopard print Vanity Fair lingerie.

In 2008, I made it my personal mission to acquire all the vintage Vanity Fair leopard print I could find. Overachiever that I am, I met my goal and acquired a number of fabulous pieces including my favorite, this leopard print bodysuit.


But you know what? I don't like keeping these goodies all to myself, so I've found another leopard print bodysuit currently up for auction. The size is 34B. The condition is excellent. And the bidding starts at only $9.99. You all better jump on this...before I decide I need another one of these. ;-)
